ARCHERY OR RIFLE ANTELOPE HUNTS: $1500 per person, fully guided

Nothing is as exciting as watching the sun rise over the 14,000 ft. peaks of the Sangre de Christo Mountains as you wait anxiously for daybreak in your comfortable blind. The shadows fade and before you, moving silently and ever watchful, is a beautiful Pronghorn antelope buck. With Palmer Outfitters this opportunity could be yours.

Our antelope hunts are conducted on private ranch lands and BLM land in the San Luis Valley. We have comfortable 4'x8' plywood ground blinds that are located on well travelled antelope trails. Here in the valley this means hunting primarily along fence lines. Antelope will travel along the fence until they come to the break near the blind. Here they pause, then go through the fence. This is where you will get your shot, which will be approximately 20 yards. Since we do not hunt from windmills or over waterholes, weather is not a factor, and you will see plenty of animals every day. Antelope are not nocturnal so we have game movement throughout the day as the antelope feed and graze among the many grass and alfalfa fields here in the valley.

Hunts are 5 days in duration and are fully guided. I limit the number of hunters to 4 hunters at a time which gives me the opportunity to work closely with you. Antelope hunts include lodging in our beautiful and comfortable log cabin which overlooks the antelope hunting valley, and good home cooked meals are included. You can also enjoy trout fishing on the property. After pictures are taken, your animal will be immediately skinned and quartered in order to keep your meat tasty. Freezer space is also included to keep the head perfect for the trip to the taxidermist. Due to limited hunting pressure here in the valley, many of our antelope bucks will come close to or make the Pope and Young record book. Hunters who pass on younger animals will be rewarded with a close range shot at a real good, mature buck.

All antelope licenses are by draw only. We also may receive some landowner vouchers, so if you do not have preference points please call and we will see about getting you one of these guaranteed licenses. There is an additional fee paid to the landowner for these licenses.
